Lean Construction Practitioner Level 1b/c Top Up overview
If you already have the Level 1a certificate and now want to become more confident in deploying the lean techniques to achieve results in the workplace, this is the ideal conversion programme. Successful delegates will be awarded the highest Level 1 Certificate of Lean Competency.
Delegates take part in a 5 day workshop where they practise a range of lean tools and collaborative planning techniques to improve a simulated construction process. This is followed by a workplace project and knowledge assessment.
The simulation allows you to “learn by doing” in a safe environment before taking the next step, deploying the tools. The follow up session ensures you are supported by our Lean Consultants during your workplace project.
After practising deployment of lean and collaborative planning techniques in the safe environment of the practical workshop, delegates will start to use them in the workplace to make quantifiable improvements.
Initially they select a small scale project in their own work environment that will use some of the techniques learned on the course. Project selection is aligned to current strategic objectives and areas where improvement opportunities have been identified. They are supported in the planning and deployment phase by one of our consultants.
Typically these projects target improvements in; programme certainty, productivity, reduction in snagging, cost reduction, lead time reduction and health and safety.
The 5 day workshop is designed to give delegates knowledge and practical experience of lean diagnostic, design, implementation & sustain methodologies; and become conversant with the following lean techniques:
Analytics, practical problem solving, lean construction planning with focus on customer requirements & supply chain management, team communication skills incorporating team & project management, effective use & management of goals, targets, indicators & metrics and the mechanisms of enabling successful sustainment of the improvements achieved.
